Change a Child's Story
Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported. But each year, children in our communities experience abuse and neglect and find themselves involved in the court system through no fault of their own.
That is where CASA steps in
First Circuit CASA recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to advocate for children involved in abuse and neglect cases across our nine-county service area in south central South Dakota.
A CASA Volunteer is often the one consistent adult standing beside a child during one of the most difficult times in their life.
-
CASA Volunteers:
- Get to know the child and everyone involved in their life
- Advocate for the child's best interests in court
- Help ensure children do not get lost in an overburdened system
- Promote safe, stable, and permanent homes for children as quickly as possible
We provide all training and ongoing support.
Could YOU Be the Difference?
One Volunteer. One Child. One Voice in Court.
CASA volunteers come from all walks of life, but they share one thing in common:
a desire to help children have a safer and brighter future. The work is not always easy, but the impact lasts a lifetime.
